This Memorial Day weekend on In Focus, we're recognizing the service and sacrifice of New York state's veterans. Albany County Executive Dan McCoy, who is a veteran himself, joined JoDee Kenney to talk about the ways his county supports the nearly 20,000 veterans who call it home. McCoy said his 34 years of service in the Army and New York National Guard provided a foundation for his leadership in the Albany Fire Department and, later, in county government. He said he speaks regularly with the handful of county executives in the state who are also veterans, and credits his military experience for his approach to solving problems and taking action.
